Originally, Saint Emilion is a medieval town built on a rocky promontory. The village was originally named after a Benedictine monk called Emilion, who lived in the 8th century!

The small town of Saint-Emilion is a jewel. Did you know that it has been listed on UNESCO's World Heritage List since 1999? But an exceptional thing, it's not just the buildings that have captured UNESCO's attention, but the landscape and the 5,000 hectares vineyards, considered a cultural landscape.

Of course, I will be pleased to book for you the entrance to the underground monuments. The underground part of Saint-Emilion is a must-see, with miles of galleries that were once used to extract stone for building Bordeaux. The catacombs and the largest monolithic church in Europe, dug from the rock between the 11th and 13th centuries, are a particularly stunning sight!
